Our Training Method
OC Mudo is an integrated training program of JuJitsu and Hapkido. Our unique methods of cross-training consist of grappling, throwing, and ground techniques of Jujitsu; joint locking, striking, and kicking techniques of Hapkido. OC Mudo techniques are based on the traditional Jujitsu and Hapkido systems, but we have developed our own unique combinations effective for various self-defense situations. We offer classes for beginners to experienced martial artists.
MDT - Law Enforcement and Security Officers Training
OC Mudo offers Mudo Defensive Tactics (MDT) program for law enforcement and security officers. Our defense techniques are based on simple yet comprehensive joint locks and takedowns that are proving to be safe and effective for the purpose of arrest and control tactics (ACT).
Hybrid Training
There are two predominant types of martial arts schools today. Traditional martial arts schools that teach old-fashioned martial arts that are popular with kids, and MMA Gyms that cater to teens and young adults looking to turn themselves into the next UFC star. However, there are still those who are genuinely interested in learning street effective self-defense techniques through time-proven methods of traditional martial arts training.
With the advent of MMA and UFC type tournaments, we learned that Jujitsu is one of the most effective martial arts inside the Octagon. Unfortunately, in real-life scenarios, most fights are against multiple attackers often armed with weapons, thus you don’t have the luxury of time and space to fully engage in one-dimensional ground fighting. In order for martial artists to be street effective, they must learn how to defend themselves standing up; on the ground; and at close range fighting. OC Mudo trains students to become street effective martial artists by developing muscle memory of Jujitsu and Hapkido techniques through thousands of repetitions while training with instructors and partners. We truly believe in the wisdom of Bruce Lee, "I fear not the man who has practiced 10,000 kicks once, but I fear the man who has practiced one kick 10,000 times." Our goal is to help our students get ready for adverse self-defense situations through mastery of core techniques taken from Jujitsu and Hapkido.
